As part of the celebration of the fourth national competition for rapid mental calculation, organized by the International Creativity Development Center in Iraq at the Baghdad International Fair, Professor Dr. Nadia Mohammed Ghanem Al-Saadi, a faculty member in the Department of Applied Sciences at the University of Technology, was honored by His Excellency the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, for being selected among the distinguished scientists in Iraq, due to her outstanding contributions in the field of scientific publishing, global evaluation, and good academic reputation.
The recognition of Dr. Nadia Mohammed Ghanem Al-Saadi is an appreciation for her valuable efforts in contributing to the development of scientific knowledge and promoting scientific research in Iraq.

Two researchers from the University of Technology win the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University Award for Best Scientific Production
The General Secretariat of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University Award for Best Scientific Production announced yesterday the names of the winners in the first edition during the second meeting held by the Board of Trustees at the university headquarters in Al Khobar city, chaired by the President of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Issa Al Ansari, in the presence of the council members.
Dr. Al Ansari explained that a judging committee was formed from various Arab countries to select the best among those who met the qualifications and sufficient experience to judge the award's research at the required level. He also indicated the council's approval to turn it into an international award, after its first edition was limited to Arab universities only, aiming to encourage universities and researchers from different countries around the world to participate and enhance their role in scientific production.
Dr. Al Ansari stated that the secretariat received 650 applications for participation in the six branches of the award in its first edition. Approval was granted for 472 applications, while 178 applications were excluded for not meeting the required conditions, and one branch of the award was withheld.
The University of Technology in Iraq won the award for Best Scientific Production in scientific research for the research entitled "Amorphous carbon nitride dual function anti-reflection coating for crystalline Silicon solar cells" by Professor Dr. Raad Abd Al-Wahab Ismail, Head of the Department of Applied Sciences, and Professor Dr. Mazhar Ali Mohammed, Department of Applied Sciences.

This award is one of the initiatives of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University globally, launched during the Union Conference in its 53rd session. The award aims to enhance scientific research, applied research, and elevate the level of scientific research in the Arab world, as well as to promote collaboration between Arab universities in scientific and academic fields to increase their competitiveness regionally and globally. Additionally, it aims to promote a culture of scientific research, encourage publication in scientific journals, and create a spirit of scientific competition among researchers in general.
