The course was held in the department building's late Professor Dr. Abdul-Muttalib Ibrahim Al-Sheikh Hall. Assistant Lecturer Ali Abdullah Issa, Assistant Lecturer Ali Fadel Ali, Assistant Lecturer Hind Majid Ahmed, Assistant Lecturer Mina Majid Ishaq, and Assistant Lecturer Abbas Ali Thajeel delivered lectures. Meanwhile, the postgraduate students expressed gratitude and appreciation to the department's administration for organizing this valuable training.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Yasser Al-Aboudi, reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment and relentless efforts to enhance and develop pathways for scientific research, global publication, and postgraduate programs. This statement was part of his speech at the ceremony honoring the winners of the Iraqi Science Day, attended by senior officials, university presidents, the head of the academics' syndicate, deans of colleges, and a group of professors, researchers, and students. The event's activities included a speech by Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director-General of the Research and Development Department, who provided an overview of the scientific contributions and award criteria. The ceremony concluded with Minister Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi honoring the winners of the Science Day awards, which included recognition for the best university, distinguished research centers and units, outstanding scientific journals, distinguished university libraries, exceptional scientific research, encouraging collective volunteer work, outstanding authored or translated books, exceptional patents, distinguished scientific journals, outstanding graduation projects, and exceptional researchers. The Department of Applied Sciences was notably recognized, with three of its faculty members honored: - **Professor Dr. Majid Sakhy Jaber**, from the Biotechnology Branch, received first place for the Best Medical Sciences Research Award for 2023. - **Professor Dr. Adawiya Jumaa Haidar**, from the Laser Sciences and Technology Branch, secured second place for a global patent. - **Professor Dr. Ghassan Mohammed Suleiman**, also from the Biotechnology Branch, earned second place for the Medical Sciences Award for 2022. Minister Al-Aboudi highlighted the Ministry's success, driven by the dedicated efforts of its specialized scientific teams, in internationalizing higher education, fostering mutual understanding between Iraqi universities and their foreign counterparts, facilitating scholarships and research opportunities, attracting over 3,000 international students, and hosting international events in Baghdad. The most recent of these was the 46th session of the meetings of the Arab Council for Scientific Research Unions, hosted by the University of Baghdad. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to intensifying its efforts to enhance scientific research pathways, global publication, and postgraduate programs. These comprehensive measures, he emphasized, are essential for improving quality, boosting the performance of academic and research institutions, and providing the momentum necessary for a vibrant educational process.
