The vision:
The Branch of Applied Physics aspires to be in front of the scientific branches in teaching and scientific research or social such as society services and to be a significant basic to support the research and our country's projects through cooperation and participation with the other scientific branches at the University of Technology and the other Iraqi universities as well as the different government and private institutions and entities on the Arabic and global level to support our country.

The message:
To prepare scientific staff that depends on the applied and technical aspects and high level of education to be compatible with the national and global quality standards throughout conducting research and studies, also providing consultation to serve the university and the local and provincial society.

The goals:
• It is considered a primary basic in general and an applied physics syllabus, and it follows a compatible studying strategy to serve the university goals.
• Introduce a high level of education to the undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Prepare qualified students with knowledge of physics principles and use the applied specialties that resonate with the futural vision of our country.

The Branch of Mathematics was established in 1976 (it was called Applied Mathematics). In 2014-2015, the syllabus of the branch was developed by including computer applications syllabus; therefore, it is now called (Branch Mathematics and Computer Applications). The graduates are given a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mathematics, science, and computer applications. They can work as mathematics teachers in schools, institutes, universities, programmers, bank accountants, data entry, or statistical employees in private or government enterprises.
