The vision and goals of Medical and Industrial materials Science Branch
The vision and goals
The vision:
Due to the significant advancements brought about by materials science in the medical and industrial fields, particularly in finding solutions to medical challenges and developing alternative materials, especially those used in the manufacturing of solar cells, industrial and construction alternatives, and petroleum industries, the curriculum will be focused on these areas.
The message:
To prepare scientific staff that depends on the applied and technical aspects and high level of education to be compatible with the national and global quality standards throughout conducting research and studies, also providing consultation to serve the university and the local and provincial society.
The goals:
• Hundreds of advanced research studies, doctoral theses, master's dissertations, and undergraduate projects have been completed in the specialised fields of materials science, including the following:
• Nanomaterials and their applications, biological and medical materials, environmental materials and recycling, superalloys and intelligent materials, magnetic and insulating materials (electrical, thermal, acoustic), construction materials (building materials) and refractories, renewable and alternative energies, thin films and coatings, reinforced composites, and shielding technology (protective shield).
• Materials science relies upon finding solutions to the problems and challenges faced by other sciences, particularly engineering and medical sciences, by developing new materials with specific properties tailored to suit usage conditions.
